During our original discussions about stories, our class wondered: Can there be such a thing as a story without pictures? We weren't sure, but Violett confidently spoke up and was able to guide us with her knowledge that her mummy, daddy and helper have books with only words. She explained that these are still stories, even though they don't have pictures. She added to our class list of ways that stories can be told by telling us that you can just write some words. Violett's favourite part of our 'How We Express Ourselves' unit of inquiry was our field trip to the musical performance of Rapunzel. She wanted to include this experience in her portfolio because: "I liked that Rapunzel got back to her mum."
This week we measured our heights for the very last time in K1. We noticed that once again, we had all grown taller! We reflected individually and as a whole class on the changes that had happened.
